My Platform

“Attributes of a Bee”

Future Ready    |   Emotionally Prepared  |   Self-Reliant   |   Globally responsible

The District has done an excellent job crafting the Attributes of a Bee. My platform is a pledge to my voters that I will do everything in my power as a board member to ensure that students have no barriers to achieving these attributes.

I pledge to:

Listen to parents, families, teachers and students collectively, so that I can provide the best guidance for each and every one of our students through my leadership responsibilities on the board. The BBHCSD reputation is phenomenal. We need to continue to build upon that reputation by being agile and flexible to make improvements where needed.  Our kids are our customers and we need to continually work to serve them to the very best of our ability. Being “future ready” means that they have not only received an excellent education, but they have had no limitations for extracurricular activities, friendships, and cultural experiences.

I pledge to:

Assist in creating an environment that readies our kids for their next chapter whether it’s higher education, trade school, military or the work place. I believe strongly that ensuring our students have problem-solving skills and the ability to function as positive team members to take on their next chapter. BBHCSD excels in curriculum and preparing its students for higher education. While college is not the path for every student, ensuring that they can solve complex problems, understand the world around them, and act with kindness and compassion for others is a sure path to success. Being “emotionally prepared” means that they have learned character-building and respect for everyone’s differences. These are important parts of their K-12 journey.

I pledge to:

Create an environment where our kids feel safe, heard, valued, respected and cared for. As a board member, I want to make sure that we have a robust safety plan and stay up to date on best practices, so that our kids feel - and are - safe from the time they enter our buildings until the time they leave. Our policies and offerings that support the emotional well being of each child ensure that they can develop the confidence to become “self reliant.” I believe that we must provide any mental health support when needed to safeguard not only the student, but potentially the entire school. Children cannot learn, grow and become self reliant if we do not provide safe and nurturing environments.

I pledge to:

Keep politics out of education. The current environment has been rapidly changing and it is up to us as parents, grandparents, caretakers and community members to sort through the difficult things for them. We need to do that as a unified community, in the best interests of the kids. Simultaneously, our district can and should be teaching our kids to understand the world around them, from Brecksville and Broadview Heights to Ohio, the Untied States and beyond. Teaching them that their contribution is valuable on both large and small scales ensure that they will indeed be “globally responsible.”

It would be impossible for our kids to attain the “Attributes of a Bee” without ensuring that we listen to and support our teachers and administration. I believe in hiring the best educators we can find and assisting our teaching staff to excel in their field. Many of these educators spend as much or in some cases even more time with our kids than we do. They must have the tools and training necessary to show up everyday and provide their very best to our kids.

These are my pledges to you, the voters of the BBH School District, and I insist you hold me to them, if elected.

Even if you do not have kids in the district, this election impacts YOU!

Our district's reputation affects our property values; we all have skin in the game. Please get out and vote this November!

My dedication to the BBH District...
BBHCSD is Excellent but let's keep building...

There are many aspects about this district that motivated our decision and have kept me proud of who we are as a “Go Bees” family. One is how involved the parents are through volunteer time, generosity in supporting the schools, and engagement in their students’ education. It’s amazing to witness and be part of.

Secondly, the support, dedication and care that our BBH teachers provide to the students is unmatched. Throughout my girls’ years in BBH schools, I’ve been so impressed to see the teachers and administration go above and beyond. Lastly, the dedication of the community as a whole to supporting our schools, provides a foundation for this district to thrive and continue improving every year.

I am running for school board to build upon this foundation and assist in continuing our excellent reputation while improving our schools for every student.  Each and every one of our children deserves the best education we can provide - and they do that through the leadership of people truly dedicated to Brecksville Broadview Heights Schools.

Parents & Community

I will listen to feedback from parents and community then help communicate and implement those suggestions and needs.

Students

One of my top priorities is to learn what our students need from all of us - the board, administration and the entire BBH community - to be successful, confident and balanced as they navigate their school years and beyond.

My message to
the BBH Family.

Teachers

I intend to communicate with teachers to better understand what they need to help them be successful, as well as to provide them support on the board to help facilitate that input.
